Shot from a German heavy 240-mm howitzer positions of Soviet troops in the area Perekopa. This is a heavy howitzer czechoslovakian firm “Škoda”, adopting Germany under the designation of 24 cm Haubitze 39. Originally, these guns were intended for export to Turkey, but the Turks were only two guns. Others joined the 1 st Battalion 814 th Artillery Regiment Wehrmacht. This is the only unit of the German army in which were these howitzers, making a total of 18 copies were manufactured.
